Missiles are long-range weaponry that attacks fairly early in a battle. They have pretty good accuracy and power, however, their rate of fire is lower then beams to compensate. They also have special abilities which deal 40% more damage to destroyers, however, motherships are highly armored and take 40% less damage (As shown on the ship-types respectively with -40 resist/+40 resist respectively)

They are more expensive then beams to research, however, because of their special attributes, they provide great damage early on when most attacking fleets are comprised of destroyers. Leading to great early advantages, but watch out for motherships!

In addition, they require vastly more Reon then Section and Nugen to research, so plan to war heavy in that region if you wish to upgrade missiles a lot.


Xenon Missile:

These missiles have higher accuracy and damage then Hawk missiles, however, it comes with a penalty of -1 rate of fire, which, over a course of a full battle leads to one less weapon shot compared to Hawk missiles. If you plan on your battles not lasting long, then Xenon missiles will perform better then Hawk missiles.

Hawk missile :

These missles have lower damage and accuracy then Xenon missiles, however they have higher rate of fire which leads to one extra attack during a full round of combat, potentially out damaging Xenon missles, espically with more skill activations.

Second generation Missles:

This missle is purely to unlock the advanced tier of missle research. However please note you dont have to have a basic missle at lv5 in order to undertake this research. So long has you have the required cosments and research total you can unlock it at any time.

The stats it provides are a modest increase over even tier 4 basic missiles, however, the advanced special ability comes into play, effectively combining Xenon missiles damage and accuracy with Hawk missiles rate of fire and adding an additional 5 range

Krypton Missiles (2nd generation attack Missiles):

These missiles follow on from the same design as Xenon missiles did. High damage and accuracy, but this time they have 5 extra range and -1 rate of fire thanks to being 2nd generation, allowing you to attack even sooner and quicker. While these missiles are very popular, they still retain the damage properties against destroyers/motherships.

Eagle missiles (2nd generation accuracy missiles):

These missiles are based off the hawk missiles, upgrading to 2nd generation actually gives them an accuracy edge over krypton missiles for the cost of a few attack points. they also have +5 range over hawk missiles thanks to being 2nd generation. while more rarely seen then krypton, their damage and accuracy is not to be underestimated

Perfect missiles (Alien tech):

These missiles have an extremely high accuracy (the highest by far in the game) however they come with the tradeoff of having the lowest attack in the game. Generally speaking, normal research missiles will have enough accuracy to hit most things, however, certain situations you can use these missiles with piercing fire to reduce their resistance to zero and hit nearly 3 times harder at max rank so extremely high evasion tanks can be destroyed.
